Health Expert Says Somali Gov’t is Yet to Take Precaution Against Ebola

espite the WHO’s warning that Ebola may spread to East Africa Region especially Kenya, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Health, Prof. Osman Haji Mohamud Dufle said government of Somalia is yet to do any precautions against the dreadful disease.

Prof. Dule who is a Noble Peace Prize nominee said precautions are needed so that Ebola cannot spread into our country. Speaking to AFRICOM’s news site, Sabahi Online, Prof. Dufle said it is appropriate to screen travelers to Somalia at entry points especially airports. “Blood of travelers arriving Somalia should be screened for Ebola”. The Prof. said. He added that the disease can easily spread from animal and human carriers.

He finally pointed out that his commission will work with the Ministry of Health in the prevention of the dreadful disease
