AMISOM and government forces in Galgadud moved towards the areas where Alshabaab are in that region. This is part of the ongoing Operation Indian Ocean to flash out Alshabaab especially those who are at the outskirts of Dusamareeb town.
The commander of Somali National Army (SNA) at Elbur town in nearby Mudug Region Mohamed Kaahiye told Dalsan Radio that SNA have also spread out themselves to the villages surrounding Elbur.
He said his forces were always on high alert and will move and attack Alshabaab anytime they are ordered to do so. This is an indication that the Operation Indian Ocean is spreading to central Somalia.
At the onset of the operation a couple of days ago, AMISOM and SNA ran over villages and towns in Lower Shabelle Region. The commissioner of Lower Shabelle Region Abdulkadir Siidii says the allied forces may ran over Barawe in the next few hours.
However, it might not be easy for the allied forces to occupy Barawe where the highest number of military trenches are ready for any warfare.
